Anyone craving a good recipe for play dough?
Fun for kids of all ages, even the 40 somethings!
My girls at church got to create with play dough during part of my lesson on Sunday, they loved it! They had 2 minutes to sculpt a depiction of a word that had something to do with what we were learning while the other girls guessed. (Like clay pictionary).
We were having so much fun that we ended up with a visitor for a few minutes, one of the counselors to our Bishop (no, not Jonathan) stopped by to see what all the happy sounds were about. We let him have in on the fun for a bit.
Anyway, here's the recipe I have used for years! My children have grown up with this play-dough. There are probably better recipes out there but I love this one because it contains baby oil which keeps it nice and soft. It smells good too!
2 c flour
1 c salt
1 Tbsp alum
Mix together.
Add:
2 c boiling water
2 Tbsp baby oil (I usually add a little more - for fun!)
food coloring
Add and mix quickly. I use my mixer.
It will be very hot so let it rest a bit before you play with it!
