For those of you who follow the happenings of the Lloyd family, you will notice that I have tried to update my weblog and have added a new header. I have spent way too much time playing with that but it has been fun. Keep watching for more new and fun things. I am limited at my possibilities at the moment. I am using Jonathan's laptop since mine crashed. He doesn't have the array of photos that I had on my PC but as you can see, I'm trying anyway. It's all new to me and that's part of the fun. I am constantly trying out new things and finding new hobbies. I don't have as much time to spend on my hobbies as I would like. I am excited to try and do more with my weblog through the summer. School is out! Our last day was Friday. I need a break. The kids need a break. Jonathan needs a break and needs me to spend a lot more time in the kitchen. I think he has missed the hours I used to spend in the kitchen! (Smash too.)
Looking at the calendar, I see that our summer is already full.
David is getting married next week. Nathan and Emily have camps the following week. We are planning a vacation to meet our friends the Baca's the end of June. Early July Nathan has a camp in Arkansas. In mid July, we are traveling to see family, pick up my Grandma and I will take her to Alaska. On the way home, we will drop Nathan off at Philmont, in N.M. (a camp for scouters, sorry but I don't know more than that, other than he is excited) and then it's Aug. and we are back to school. I am hoping to spend the rest of the time enjoying the children, the pool and summer fun activities.
Nathan had a great year. He is off to H.S. in the fall. How can he be old enough? I know I'm not! He made first chair in band on his french horn and was so excited about that! He has played tennis and worked hard at it this year and I believe he has learned a lot from his experience. He has taken all difficult core classes and AP classes. He has his HS and college career all mapped out and knows what he wants! We went to his band concert and school awards assemblies at the end of the year. He is always a high achiever. Last week, Nathan received the Presidential Education Award along with a letter from President Bush. This is awarded to students with high academic achievement throughout all of their school years. It is awarded to you at a transition year, he received it when he left Elementary School and now again at the end of Middle School. He just goes along like it is all business as usual, which for Nathan, it is. He is great at home and has really pitched in and done a lot to help around the house. He says he doesn't mind helping and he likes that I work at the school with Smash and Megan. I believe his room is the cleanest in the house, usually all of the time. He is a great kid! I wish someone could tell me how come he has gotten so old so fast!
You're so sweet to include our little growing family on your weblog! I want EVERYONE to know how great of a friend Marilyn has been to me. She already helped with a major part of my baby shower at school, but then has continued to showered me with gifts, visits, and tears of joy. Her friendship is shown not only with the baby, but in her care of me. I can't tell you how nice it is to have such a great friend. Since I moved to Texas, I have not had that kind of a relationship. I didn't know how much I missed it until lately. Mar, I hope you know how much I truly appreciate everything you do, and how much I like being your friend.
