SATURDAY!
A very busy day with our family going in all directions. My morning began at about 5:30. I had to be up and ready for a very full day!
Ginger had asked me to drive Mr. and Mrs. Isbell in my mini during the veterans day parade. What a fun request.
Mr. and Mrs. Isbell came dressed in their I love Isbell shirts and Mr. Isbell, a WW2 veteran, wearing his coast guard hat. They are the sweetest little couple. I was very thankful for the opportunity to drive them in the parade and to spend time with them. Their history here in Frisco is rich. They know everyone! While on the parade route, Mr. Isbell yelled "I'm watching you, Johnny!" I looked around to see which kid he was yelling at and Johnny was about 60 years old. People of all ages walked up to the car to talk with them and shake their hands. They are very loved in our community. It's wonderful that they have a school named in their honor and that they are still here to see the fruits of their labors.
By the way, they looked so cute cuddled in Carlotta...my mini.
After the parade, I had to hustle right home and get over to the Pink Elementary Fall Festival for the afternoon. I was in charge of a booth there and to be honest, I was not really looking forward to it. I was resenting it just a bit because not one parent from Ashton's class would help with our booth. I wanted to spend at least some of the time with my own kids. Despite my apprehensions, the afternoon went well. Emi helped me work the booth. Someone from another class came to cover my booth so Emi and I could watch Smash perform and then walk around with the kids for a little while.
Saturday was a beautiful day, I cherished the time with Ginger and the Isbell's!
I was thrilled to spend the day at a booth with Emily. It was exciting to watch Ashton and his friends perform for the crowd. I had fun catching glimpses of Megan and her little friends having fun at the Festival. All in all, it was fantabulous!
For all of that, I was truly GRATEFUL!
Sounds like a fun day! Carlotta looks great also. Smash, great show! I love "town" events. It is fun to see friends and neighbors and enjoy the history or where you live.
