Ok, I didn't need to open your blog today and find such a deep entry or did I? You brought tears to my eyes. It is just what I needed. I read it and re-read it. Life's journey sometimes stinks (to put it nicely) but as you stated, we need a good travel companion. I have the Lord and I also have you. Thanks for always listening and providing a long distance shoulder to cry on. You are an amazing friend!

It has been a difficult week. It was heart-wrenching for me to watch Bruce's mother sit by his side and say "This wasn't in my plans...". And then sweet to see her reach up and wipe the moisture from his face.

A mother's relationship with her children is eternal.

I don't think I ever met Bruce, though I heard about him. I've still been thinking about his family lots this week, and praying for them. I do know that the heavens are intimately aware of us. They won't be left alone. None of us are.

Such a hard week for everyone. I'm so sorry you have sadness now. Know that you are in our prayers and we are sending healing energy from Vermont.
Marliyn, enjoy your camera school. I know you will learn so much and have a great time with your friend. Take care of yourself. So many people love you and need you. Nurturing yourself is not a luxuary, but a neccesity.

In my old job I used to experience the death of children on an all-too-frequent basis. It's hard to wrap your brain around it. Just doesn't make sense. I hate to reference Billy Joel when discussing life and the afterlife, but I think his lyric "only the good die young" may have some truth in it. Not that it means that if you live a long life you're bad, but more that HE takes some of the great young spirits in this world early to serve a purpose we do not know or understand. I will be thinking of their family...

"A life so young released to heaven, left on earth we wonder, 'why?'. But some are sent among us briefly. Some have spirits meant to fly"
