THIS TIME AT CHURCH.
Nearly everyone who attends our faith is given an assignment/job to fulfill within our church community. We are asked by our Bishop to take on these assignments. My latest position has been as a compassionate service leader. Which in a nutshell means that when someone is in need of assistance, I find someone to help them in whatever way seems appropriate. I have really enjoyed serving the people at church in this capacity. It has been difficult to see the struggles that so many people go through. A major downside to this assignment was that when I was usually engaged in helping someone else, it was because they were in some way afflicted. The upside, however, was when I needed willing helpers, I was able to find them. Watching people love and care for each other was a blessing to me.
So, you are probably wondering by now...what is the change that she has eluded to?
I felt this change was coming. I kept feeling as if this would happen. But I pushed it aside and tried to put it out of my mind because I didn't think I would be asked to work with the youth while Jonathan is in his current position at church.
I have been asked to be an advisor to the 16-17 year old girls. My assignment, make that my privilege, is to teach these girls on Sunday and attend Youth Night with them on Wednesdays. I get the best of all worlds. I get to teach and train them on spiritual matters and I also get to go out and play with them.
Yep! I'm excited.
I have taught some of these same girls when they were 12-13 years old.
Lucky me!
Now if only Emily were in my group, wait...strike that...she would have to be 16!
Change is good.
At the right time. :)
Congratulations! I know this is the place you love to serve. They are lucky to get you!

Those lucky girls! I bet that they are excited... I know that I would be. I bet that this will be a ton of fun for them. Plus, they'll learn a lot, too. Good for everyone. Will you be getting to go to Girls' Camp?

Yes, change is good. I was wondering when you would work with the youth again. I think it is terrific. You will be great and greatly blessed.

I can't think of a more perfect example of a woman I would want my child to be educated by regarding character and spiritual issues...
They're lucky girls, and of course I'm sure you'll love every minute of it.

Mar will do a fantastic job... Now I'm patiently waiting to be released from my calling... the bishop said I'll be waiting a long time.
Emi - you aren't allowed to turn 16.
