What a difference the magic of a child can make in the heart of a woman.
Spending time with Emory was just what I needed. We enjoyed the ordinarily fun things that kids absolutely love. Making faces.
Playing with toys, working on puzzles, watching a dvd together, giggling and talking; a lot of talking, she talked all day and it was delightful.
Eating and playing at McDonald's,
which she calls "Old MacDonald's!"
So, we naturally had to belt out the tune Old MacDonald; on the way to Mickey D's and then again when we left, making certain to not miss the pigs and the really great snorts that accompany that part of the song. (She was impressed with my snorting ability, as are many of you).
Shopping, finding new shoes and treats (which she was ecstatic to be able to share).
Playdough fun. Emory always wants me to make playdough when she visits! She loves it! This time, we made it pink.
Good, uninterrupted, old-fashioned FUN!
Other preschoolers are welcome...a couple of you have already offered your cute kids, (i.e. Matthew and Vivi)...I'm ready!
You had a great time!
(maybe I can play with them)

One of your greatest qualities is your genuine love and appreciation of little children. I love the way you get right on their level to talk and play with them, and the way you sincerely enjoy being with them. We'll have to arrange a playdate soon.

Thanks for taking such great care of Emory! She hasn't stopped talking about her day with "Mar". You are such a wonderful friend. I can't thank you enough. Oh and by the way, I'm not exactly a preschooler but can I come and play too? I can make some pretty good faces and goat noises are MY specialty! :) Love ya and thanks again! I need to get copies of those pictures- sooo cute. We'll scrapbook them so Emmy can always remember "Emory Day" with Marilyn.
