WHS Band attended UIL competition on Saturday and received a 1!
The judges awarded them with straight superior ratings. Very impressive!
It was their best show yet. They looked and played fabulously well. It was an absolutely beautiful day to watch them SHINE!
Nathan and Emily were ecstatic as they relayed the feedback (all positive) from the judges. They were also very excited to let me know that their band director has rewarded them with a day off (Monday) from practice. I must admit, I love it when anything is canceled that allows us to spend some extra time together. Woo hoo!
This picture of Emily marching is one of my favorites; even though her face is not visible, she is easily spotted, the small one on the left (front), holding a huge instrument and marching with the posture of a gymnast, (even all these years later).
Emily, 1st on left. Nathan, 2nd from right.
Congrats Nate and Emi!! UIL is tough competition. I remember it well. You guys must be very proud of all your hard work. Enjoy the moment. I love you!!

I think it's cool that your kids attend a school that has such a great marching band program and take pride in excelling in what they're doing. It really makes a difference and makes them better at their own instruments when they have that kind of a standard to live up to! It definitely is impressive and I send my "props" to both of them for an awesome achievement! Miss you guys.

This was fun to watch! I'm so glad Mar talked me into going instead of cleaning the garage!
