Today? Oh, RATS!
As I sit here typing on the keyboard, "Live and Let Die," by Paul McCartney is playing on the radio. How apropos! That really seems to be my theme song these days.
If you've been keeping up to date with my misadventures, daily events, you will fully understand why yesterday was for the birds; and may already be guessing just where I am going -- when all I can say is -- rats, for today.
Found this morning in a glue trap near the garage door, still alive, flipping and flopping around, was...you guessed it!
I just could not take care of this (death or near death) again this morning! And to top it off, I had a home showing to get ready for which was happening in an hour.
A friend called, wanting to ask a favor; she asked me why I sounded so weird and then I let her know of my momentary plight and that I was trying to figure out what to do. Without even asking her what she needed from me, I asked if she would be willing to come and help me out. She was willing. She came and helped me. In trade, I got to watch her very sweet son, Brandon, (who had an ear infection) for the day. Ya, I got the better end of that deal.
It is all in the timing. :)
I also watched little Miss Emory again today.
Thankfully, the "live and let die" situation only began my day, the remainder of it was shared by some darling little rug-rats; 2 who are not my own, and some others who join me in a daily rat race that has lately been for the birds!
**Another thought just occurred to me. An informant is often referred to as a RAT or a stool PIGEON, could someone be trying to tell me something?!
Mar,
You've always been good at trading up!
Sorry about your new job in animal control.

OH Aunt Mar! That's awful!!! Eeeew! I am so sorry... Sick!!! Good luck with that... I wish I could be there to help, but honestly, I'd probably just stand there and squeal the whole time...

Maybe you should get one of those Mouse catchers, that you can't even see them, they just enter this box, and they don't leave. Or just a mouse trap that slams shut, it's a little more gross, but it's instant death, and the mice never have guts to do it again. :)

Boy oh boy! What is going on over there? First birds dropping from the skies and now rats wreaking havoc on your poor animal sensitive soul. Sorry for the ewww, but thankful that you have friends who are close by to help. And you definitely got the better end of the deal!

Sure glad I live on the other side of the neighborhood -- lots of crickets, but thankfully nothing warm blooded. And, no. I will not trade time with Matthew for rat duty -- NOT A CHANCE!
