I wrote the fake obit and attended the mock funeral, but I hadn't seen this. I agree with you that I don't know that the program helped Amanda feel more impressed to never drink and drive. I hope it helped some of her friends. And I agree with Emily; no need to spend real emotions on fake tragedies.

I am grateful to have happy, healthy children.

I hope they will always use good judgement and in addition be watched over and protected for those who don't.

I hope this mock incident may save someone from tragedy.

Our high school did this last year. My youth girls said it hit close to home. They had friends that they couldn't talk to because they were among the "living dead". If it saves just one life from the tragedy of driving drunk, it is worth all the hard work.
