We had cupcakes for dinner.
Alright, so they were meatloaf cupcakes with mashed potatoes on top, but it was a fun dinner for April Fool's Day.
At first the kids were excited about the cupcakes, then suspicious, and then worried, very worried...
at one point, they thought I might be trying to feed them homemade playdough.
Nathan knew I would do something foolish or tricky, so he was waiting suspiciously to find out what it would be.
Although the kids thought it was a great joke, and it fooled them in the beginning, they really had a hard time accepting the blue mashed potatoes. The meatloaf was pretty new to them also, it isn't a dish that I love so I haven't made it in years.
All in all, a good little joke.
My co-workers probably thought it a bit strange when I was eating cupcakes for lunch April 2nd.
They were really good!

Ahahahaha! That is the coolest! You really take the cake when it comes to practical jokes. What an awesome idea.
And I'm with the kids. Blue mashed potatoes? I just don't think that I could do that either.

What a super cute idea. I will have to use that one next year.
