Jonathan, Emily, Smash and I (with the kid's Uncle Mark) took a nice, long ATV ride in the mountains of Bear Lake, ID. The natural beauty of untouched earth is breathtaking to me, it is always worth any time and energy spent in order to enjoy it. We also really enjoyed getting to know Mark (Elizabeth's husband) a little better. He is lots of fun and likes to drive fast, getting out in the hills and going all out is the ONLY way to go!! (And taking a nap while waiting for Jonathan to catch up is also fabulous, hee, hee.
Always surprising to me, the unmatchable beauty of wildflowers. They grow and thrive in some of the harshest conditions. These little beauties were growing out of the dry, cracked, rocky earth, with only mother nature as the sprinkler system. Though they seem delicate and fragile, they must be tough as rocks to thrive in such circumstances. As I stopped and studied these little beauties, it occurred to me that although they could give in to the elements surrounding them and wither away, they don't. They grow and bloom and beautify.
You know that I absolutely LOVE Bear Lake, but you've captured beauty that I have not, and unfortunately cannot enjoy. Thanks for the wonderful pictures.
