going on around here, we did start school...
as you can see, Smash loves it just as much as I do! (He wants to stay at home and play! wink, wink!)
Actually, he doesn't like his shirt, it wasn't soft enough. Poor child.
Megan was a bit nervous to begin middle school. She woke up the morning of the 1st school day after having a dream that she had to start middle school with the chicken pox. She was quite relieved when she found no pox upon waking after her dream.
On the way to school she began to exhale rather loudly, then turned to me and announced that she was a bit nervous. Smash had forgotten his schedule, so we left her to go in alone. I felt terrible as she seemed bewildered and confused. (And TINY! Did I mention how puny she looked?!) Just as I was rounding the corner (with tears filling my eyes), I heard her friend call out her name. Instantly, Meg put on a huge smile and seemed happy and ready to tackle her new surroundings. Thank heaven for good friends.
Smash also seems to be adjusting to the new year just fine. I'm sure we will be able to get our homework groove back on very soon; all will be better than fine when that happens. He has some really great teachers this year. We are happy about that!
Emily seems to be loving her classes so far. Her days are long. She leaves the home each morning at 5:15. Miss Em is a Junior in HS this year. She is thrilled about that, I am still adjusting to it!
Make it a great school year kids!
We are blessed with wonderful children

The Smash thing is hilarious. What makes it funny to me is that Derek has the same issue. He will not wear anything that is too coarse and makes him itchy or uncomfortable. It drives me nuts.
Glad you made it through their first day. Here's to a great year.

You remind me so much of myself as my sons would begin school each year. I would always be totally exhausted that first week, until I was sure all was well.
I love Emily's glasses!!
