(Emily - looking fab on Mantua)
Em had to say goodbye to summer quite a few weeks ago. The week she returned from EFY, her days were filled with leadership camp. Since then, she spends all day, everyday, marching with the band.
8AM-8PM.
If you are wondering if they march outside in the TX heat, they do.
We can hear them playing from our home. I love listening to them play, they are sounding great, but it seems so hot for them to be out there marching and marching and marching...
I wish I could have had more time with Emily this summer. I feel a bit robbed, in fact. But I do think she enjoyed her summer, even though her vacation time was short.
I am NOT ready for summer to end. Have I ever been? No, I have not. I love the summertime with my kids. I love the heat. The water. The sun. The fresh veggies and fruits. Snow cones. Long days. Traveling. And having our schedule ease up on us a bit. The days when the kids were young and we were thinking up things to do that could fill our time are long gone; there is never enough time now, they are busy and their lives are full of good things but I long for the days when I had more time with them.
I don't want to say farewell to summer just yet, not ready for any goodbyes in fact. I am holding on.
My vote is in. Extend!

Emily looks so deteremined and serious. It's not what I am used to seeing on her face. I know you hate school time. I am sorry that yet again the sweet days of summer are coming to an end. I think of you fondly every year at this time.
