HE LOVES ME!
As life would have it, our anniversary this year was full.
Full of the common, the usual, the every day.
We squeezed in a lunch date at Pappsito's, which of course was fabulous, but other than that it was just an ordinary day.
Actually, not exactly ordinary.
We had a home-showing scheduled for that morning so there was baking to be done (I always leave goodies for the potential buyers), extra-fluffing of carpets, shining of surfaces and appliances, etc., had to be completed in record time.
I had some floral arrangements that were too droopy to pass off as alive anymore and had decided to try and get fresh flowers for a couple of areas in the home. But around each corner was something else that would catch my eye and distract me; instantly feeling compelled to clean, or buff, or fix something...
have I mentioned before that I tend to be a bit like the mouse in the book "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie"?!
Anyway, back to my day:
Rushing, rushing, rushing.
My minutes were ticking and I was all too aware of time.
I ran into the bathroom to throw my hair in a ponytail and become somewhat presentable...still with the hands on the clock ticking away in what seemed faster than normal.
Within a minute or so my children were standing in my bedroom, needing my attention. Feeling rushed and frustrated, I was not too happy that they needed me again, but as I opened the bathroom doors, I saw them standing there with a lovely floral arrangement while wearing 2 very large grins.
The flowers were from Jonathan (and a favorite floral shop in town). I was excited! Thrilled! How did he know?!
They took their place on our entry table, problem solved and thoughtful to boot...
But that was not all.
As I walked into the other room to throw out the dead flowers, there he was replacing them with another sweet arrangement.
Oh, I was super-duper surprised! (Doubly surprised!)
I thanked him for the lovely arrangements and for thinking of something so sweet on our anniversary, kissed him and began rushing again.
He left.
I thought he was on his way back to work but he returned within minutes.
Carrying a gigantic vase full of Gerbera daisies.
I love daisies, all varieties! Gerbera's are sweet and cheery and full of color, they seem more fragile than a typical daisy. I love them!
So, so thoughtful of him.
Each time I have admired the lovely arrangement of daisies on my kitchen table, I have thought, "He loves me!" (And I haven't had to pluck any petals to find that out!)
Lovely flowers. Congratulations. Jonathan is great!

You really do make cookies for the potential buyers?! When we get ready to sell our house I will try to remember that.
