Something he's always wanted...
Good morning, sunshine...Nothing like having your sis get you out of bed and blindfold you first thing in the morning on your birthday.
I believe the word was, "Sweet!"
Calling his buddies to tell them to come and see his new fixer-upper toy.
The go-kart is not yet in running order but the frame and a lot of the parts are in good condition. So he gets the thrill of working on the engine in order to get it running as well as the pay off of a sweet ride when it's complete. Fun, fun gift for Smash.
He has been working on it non-stop since he got it. He loves it! The other night on his way to bed, he commented that this was "the coolest birthday ever," and that he thinks it would be "awesome to get something to fix up on every birthday."
Thus far, he has taken it completely apart. Cleaned it all out. Diagnosed some of the problems and is now replacing parts as needed. Jonathan, Megan and I have been out there working on it with him as well. It is too much fun! His friends have been over to tinker with him too. Although, I think his friends are more interested in whether or not it is ready to ride...and less interested in the mechanics, nonetheless, it is providing hours of entertainment for all.
SWEET is definitely the right word. Or you could use the popular teenage word right now(since you are now an official teen)...SICK! Means the same thing as awesome, sweet, cool, etc. What an exciting gift. Can't wait to see you taking off at high speed.

Love the new border! Happy birthday Smash. If anyone deserves such a "sick" gift, you do!

Congratulations, Ashton. Wow, what a PERFECT gift just for you. "Sweet", indeed. "Sick" just doesn't do it for me. (Signs of being a grandma, I guess). However, I enjoy being your grandma immensely, I'm sure from my days of being a mother to five boys, I know that "getting ready to ride" is the greatest!!!!

I LOVE your new banner. Beautiful.
And I think this gift is perfect for Smash. I can see him really getting into fixing it up. What fun he must be having-- especially because he can work with Uncle Jonathan on this. I'm sure he is really enjoying that aspect of the gift as well.
I can't wait to see pics of the "fixed-up" go-kart-- with Smash driving it.
So cool.
Glad you are having fun Smash!!

(I forgot the comma. I'm sorry-- I had to fix it. I tried to navigate away from the page, but I couldn't.)
