I believe I owe you an apology.
Some of you saw on 'Reader' my offer for a fun little gift sent from me to you if you were the author of my 5,000th comment.
But, when you came to the site to leave your comment, the offer was no longer there.
Allow me to explain.
While reading a rather funny comment from Scott D. on my Typepad site, I noticed that I was oh, so close to 5,000 comments. The thought excited me greatly, so I hurried and posted a rather hasty blog entry with an offer. Just after posting, I realized that my hubby was commenting on the blog and wondered if he might be the winner. (I was debating on whether or not he should be able to win, but of course he should, he is my greatest supporter!). When I looked at the numbers, they were radically different from just a few minutes earlier. So, I gave it a few minutes, enhanced the 5000th comment entry with some cuteness and clever words, then went back to the numbers. Again, they were off from both of the stats earlier.
Hmm.
I was a bit stumped, for a minute. Then I thought that the site may have been under some sort of maintenance. I gave it a few more minutes, checked again and again the numbers were weird.
I retracted the entry.
Since no one else was on the site when I removed it, I thought it would be okay. But it was saved somewhere else.
Hmm, again.
When I realized that some of you were Reader readers, I went to Reader and guess what I found...the entry, and not even the full, cute and clever entry. Just the initial one.
This bothered me a little.
You see, I often publish a blog entry and then change it after I see it on my blog page. Frequently I have my most clever moments after I have posted. Or, I have second thoughts about something I have said, and remove it after it has been published.
Now I know when I post something and you read it in Reader, you may not be reading what I intended. Bummer.
I suppose I will need to be more careful about how I publish my entries; think about this, if I invited you over for dinner, I would never partially feed you or save the best food for after you have left our home!
But, I do realize that I am the only one who really CARES about my blog, in a way that only I can. So maybe it's okay if you are partially fed...
but it's not okay if you came in person to visit my blog knowing that you were going to receive a little gift and then were let down.
So, my blogging buddies/readers, here is another offer...now I will see if any of you actually read to the bitter end of one of my blog entries...
I know who has left the most recent comment.
My favorite number is 7.
Be the seventh person (not the seventh comment) from the one who left the most recent comment (no I won't tell you who it is), and you will receive a little gift from me.
As before, you may leave a comment on any entry, it doesn't have to be this one. In fact, why not shake it up? Keep 'em guessing, leave your comments somewhere else, no one but me will be able to know who will be number 7! Fun, fun! (Insert slightly evil laugh!)
Happy Commenting! Can't wait to see who will be the Winnie?!
That is the very reason I don't have my blog on Reader. I have had friends put on posts they later regret, then delete it, but it stays on Reader. I don't get that. I change my posts continually. If you ever find a way around that please do let me know.

If someone becomes the "Winnie" does that also mean that they become the "Pooh" as well?
Hmm. . . I don't know how I feel about this.

I win!

Karen,
The person who doesn't win is the Pooh! (As in the bear... cuz sometimes it's a bear to lose...it can also be unbearable, ha!)
Don't you remember that when we play games here, there is always a Winnie, and the rest are the _____. (think bear!)

I've always been a fan of bears. . . :)
