because a visit to her means a big cup full of shaved ice and flavor! (For only a dollar!)
I believe the Snow Cone Lady has been in business in our fair town since 1983.
On those hot Texas days, there is nothing better than good ice!
She reopened the end of April for the season and we have been trying to get over there ever since.
After a month of trying we finally made it.
The other day Meg and I rushed over there just after I picked her up from school. We were hopeful that we could beat the afternoon rush. If you get there during the rush, you can wait in line for an hour or so...
we beat quite a few of the folks, not all.
But standing in line (for probably only 15 minutes or so) gave us plenty of time to decide on flavors (for everyone, we always take home some for the fam)
and read the new signs posted by Snow Cone Lady, Mary.
If I didn't love the Snow Cone Lady enough already, there is certainly a lot more reason to now.
Posted on the side of her rather large freezers - right where all in line have to see them, are these:
Some of the teenagers who frequent her establishment might say she's COLD! Not cool!
I think she's great and these signs warmed my heart.
As Arnold Schwarzenegger would say to Mary, the Snow Cone Lady, if he could, "I'll be b-ahh-ck!"
This was TOTALLY a memory! Thanks for the cute post.

Oh! We love the snowcone lady! We always stopped after each little league baseball/softball game. She used to be across from Double Dip but the lines were geting so long the people were too close to the street so she moved West where she's at now. Fun times! We miss it.

What a fun post. And snow cone lady sounds like a real winner. I love her signs. Way for her to stick to her guns about teaching manners.
