I've heard that it is the special sauce!

Jill Shelley

My oldest son says Mac is the ONLY way to go. I don't understand it either. I'm going to forward this to him.

I will gladly tell you what I love about my Mac.

I love the simple and easy commands/user interface. Much of how Mac programming is written is very intuitive. There is, I would say, a learning curve (a small one) but once you've gotten the hang of it, everything feels more natural.

I love that I've had my Macbook Pro for over a year now, and it still runs as fast as it did the day I turned it on for the first time.

I love how easy it is to find things on my Mac. Sometimes searching for docs/pictures can be kind of a pain on a PC.

I love how I'm not constantly being given security updates/software updates. (For example, my work PC will, at least once a week tell me that the updates for my computer are almost complete, and that it needs to restart to finish making them. I hate that I don't even have the option to update later. I have to stop what I'm doing and wait for my computer to shut down and re-start.)

I love the screen resolution/font smoothing, etc. I really feel like things just look a little crisper on my Macbook Pro.

I love that everything just works.

Now, I haven't used Windows 7, so I don't know how that OS compares to the Snow Leopard OS. But, I know that the operating system I have on my computer is far superior to the other operating systems I've used on PCs.

I also love that if there is ever a problem with my Macbook, that I can take it somewhere and get it taken care of--no problem. My experience with their customer service was wonderful.

I like the overall sleek look. I like that it's tons lighter than my PC was. I love that I can make the power cord long or short depending on what I need it to do. I love that the power cord is magnetic (so that when I inevitably pull it out by accident, I'm not worried about causing damage).

I love that the battery doesn't get as hot as my old laptop's battery.

I just . . . love it.

Confession: I felt slightly traitorous buying a Macbook Pro. (You know, because of our HP connection.)

But, I'm so glad I did. I really do understand why Apple has gained a cult-following. I really believe that some of their products are just better. (Which I think is evidenced by some of the copy-cat features PCs are trying to pull off. But that's a whole other comment.)

Now, after all of that, I admit, Macs aren't perfect. But I can't think of anything that I hate about my computer. Or that I even dislike.)

And really, once you get used to using a Mac, going back to using a PC can be very frustrating. All these intuitive commands don't work on the PC.

Longest comment ever? Probably.

Love you, Aunt Mar!

What funny timing for this post. I just came home with a Mac today to replace my HP. All my adobe platform upgrades arrived yesterday. I sure hope I love it, 'cause it's mine now. I'll let you know what I think after a few days...
