I think anyone would be crazy to mistake her for a boy. (And Emily, you look beautiful by the way. I wish you could have given me tips when I was in band.)

But, I totally understand the feeling. In fact, my directors/section leaders emphasized that the whole point of the band uniform was to make us all look the same. Rationally, I knew it was supposed to have a unifying effect when we marched, but that didn't ever stop me from feeling like I looked like a boy. (Which, though I'm not a girly girl - I am a girl. And I don't want to be a boy. Or be mistaken for one.)
