So, while I am recovering from our college drop-off and return and while I am preparing for the next Institute lesson (more on that later), I will be trying to also fill in some of our blanks and update this family blog. (Don't get too excited, ha!) It may take me a while.
Before school let out, Smash was awarded the Presidential Award for Educational Excellence throughout his Middle School years.
Even though I gave him a REALLY hard time about receiving it (because he doesn't give his best effort or he rarely gives it any effort...), I was very happy to watch him receive this award and honor. He is a great kid.
Smash has much to offer as well as a lot to gain and give by working hard. I hope he will use his gifts wisely in High School. He is growing and changing and still loving life and living it to the fullest.
Smash also likes our new(ish) addition...
Meet Larry.
Full name, Sir Lawrence of London. Larry is a land rover LR3 and has been taking me everywhere I need to be lately.
(More on Larry later...probably).
And more on the college drop later too. But know that SHE is doing great and loving life!
Great job Ashton!
Thanks for our time together while the girls were out of town!

He gets an award like that and he doesn't even try?? Wow! Sounds like he could cruise through life. :)

You know, Smash. You are really a great kid. I'd say lovable, but you wouldn't like that. We were so happy to be there with you at Emily's graduation. You are growing up, and I can see lots of leadership skills. I admire you for a lot of things, but I love the way you interact with grandpa. You have a lot of things in common. I really look up to you Ashton. You are the greatest.

Lookin' good Smash! You could be a car model!
But seriously, it sounds like you can go anywhere you put your mind to going. That's a pretty awesome gift that not everyone is blessed to have. I can't wait to see where life takes you.
Congratulations on the award!
