"You can never move back, it will never be the same..."
I've heard that said many times and have felt that way as well. But I have to admit that moving "back" (to Northern Colorado) has been a sweet experience.
(And if you are in TX and reading this, there are many things I miss about TX and still love there! And if you happen to be reading this and are in TX, YOU are one of them!)
Back to CO:
There are several people in the area that have remained friends over the years and rekindling those friendships has felt seamless to me.
Even though it has been many years since we moved from the area, and much has changed in that time, the people who have remained have made such a difference for me upon my return.
More than one person has said to me, "Welcome Home!" Not welcome back...but welcome home. The first time I heard that it took me back for a second and I thought to myself, "Home? Is this home?" I guess it is now. My family is here and home to me is wherever we are together.
Today an old friend, as in a friend I have had for a long time...she is not old...sent me a text and asked if I wanted to go to Bath and Body Works with her. I was taking Nathan to Institute and asked her if she wanted to ride along and then go. She did! Being with her was so easy. I met her nearly 20 years ago, when I think of how long that is and how quickly that time has passed, it boggles my mind! We had a great time together and I really appreciated getting to spend that time with her.
I feel very blessed to have exceptional women in my life.
I am thankful to have moved to a place where I already feel strong connections with people and genuine love for them. It is truly a blessing to me at this stage in my life.
I love you Mar
