OUR NEW SCHOOLS.
We absolutely and completely lucked out with our new schools! Actually, I have to recognize that it was more than just luck that got us into these schools.
With open enrollment here we were able to apply for the schools of our choice. But it was hard to try to figure out where to place the children. We did some research but our decisions were made by the feelings we received. At first Meg didn't get into the school of our choice because they had never before taken a student who lived out of district, let alone out of state. But a miracle occurred and the registrar called me one day to let me know she thought we "must be living right" because Megan was accepted!
And I am so very grateful!
She has made such good friends there; the kids at that school are really top notch, as are the teachers! And I love the importance they place on community and service within their curriculum.
These articles were in the newsletter that was sent to me. I know they are a little hard to read, I had to take photos with my iPhone in order to get these into the blog. But they are really great articles and they tell about some of the things that Megan has been involved in recently.
(Megan is in the leadership program at the school as well as in the global leadership program).
She is in the photographs below. In the first photo, she is the one riding the boxes of canned goods. :)

Smash has enjoyed his football season. I believe his favorite part of the year was when he ran the ball 48 yards for a touchdown. That was so exciting! Football helped him with the transition to the new school.
His school is huge! It may be a little intimidating but I keep hearing from people that he is in the best high school in the area. I hope he does well there.
A cool iPhone photo.
I am grateful that the kids are in good schools and that although it is tough having to transition to a new place, new friends and new schools, they seem to be doing well.
I am so happy the kids are doing well in their new environments. They are in awesome schools. They are lucky schmucks!!
