Smash had a really good meet on Wednesday.
He was super-duper excited to achieve a new personal record (or personal best - pb)!
It is such an exciting thing to watch him soaring through the air. And even more excited when he lands while pumping his fists high above his head!
He loves it!
Warm Up:
After only a couple of vaults the equipment had to be moved to the other side of the track and face the other direction - because of wind.
(I stayed where I was so I ended up quite far from the action, sorry about the photos, just didn't have the energy to move.)
at 9 ' 6":
Up and over!
Here's a look at his take off:
At 10 Feet! Up and over!
Here is the vault her really wanted for the day - a good, clean vault with good form and a 10' 6":
Legs going crazy, he starts celebrating on the way down.
He tried for 11 feet and was just right there. He is really close to getting that height also.
Word on the street is that his coach is looking for a longer pole for him. That would be great! He is running out of pole!
He stuck his pole in perfectly, if you look closely, you can see it standing at attention in all of the photos!
We are really enjoying the sports our kids are involved in at present.
The things our kids do and the places they take us to are really fabulous.
Great job, Smash!
Awesome double fist pump on the way down!

WOW, Ashton. Your vaults are incredible. It is so fun to see the pictures. It is almost (almost) like being there in person. Wish we really were there. By the way, Marilyn, these pictures are great!!!!!
