So, this has been a bit of a stressful week.
I found out over the weekend that Jonathan has been keeping things from me (in order to protect me, ugh...) and these things that he has been keeping from me would have been helpful to know earlier!
Jeanne and Allan are returning earlier than we had expected, which is great! But it also means that we need to get out of here so they can have their home back. They need to have a home (minus us!) to welcome all the folks who will surely want to come and visit them.
I have been searching for a home that would fit our needs and recently found a couple that might work for us but we were not even close to being able to get into them right now. Oh, how I wish the right thing would have worked out by now!
As soon as I learned that we were going to be moving in a few days, we went on a frantic search of a rental.
We had originally thought (before we knew when we would need to leave here) that we would leave here, put stuff in storage and roam around for the summer; mainly staying and vacationing in UT. We had reserved a condo in UT a couple of months ago but when we realized I would need to stay here a little longer to continue to get well and to be able to finish up appointments and treatments with my doctors, we asked if we could push back our reservation date by a couple of weeks. Well, the owner said "NO!" So, we canceled that place altogether. I was bummed but he was not very understanding or kind and this health thing isn't something we can help! At that point we thought we would wait and get me feeling better before we decided on a place.
And here we are at this week.
Finals week.
An unexpected move.
Still sick.
In fact, with my immune system compromised, I have caught something on top of it all.
Really not good timing.
But it is what it is...
We have found a cute victorian style home that we will rent until we buy/build. It wasn't easy to find a home. Rental homes are snatched up the day they are advertised. So, you have to get there fast and become the favorite of all the potential renters.
We were looking at two homes and although the other home had some nicer features, I liked the owner of this home much better.
And a big perk of this home is that it is much closer to where we are now. (And we just are not ready to leave the great friends we have that are here).
It is only across town, actually not even that far. Just a few streets over.
It needed to be CLEANED in a major way! So we all have been cleaning like crazy!
It is as ready as it can be at this point and we are moving.
We will sleep there tonight.
The piano joins us tomorrow - I have professionals coming for that.
Smash has a half day of school today and Megan has a fun 8th grade celebration day - that I won't get to go to but Emily will be volunteering in my place. Thanks, Em. Megan has a half day tomorrow, not sure why?!
And then our summer begins!
(Jon and I still feel like vagabonds).
No matter what, summer fun is beginning soon.
In a new place.
While we dream of things to come, I will be getting healthy.
And we will spend time in UT, just not as much as we thought originally.
So, there it is. A quick snapshot of this CRAZY week that we will survive. :)
I've got to get back to packing and cleaning (and pulling my hair out!! Just kidding, I wouldn't do that, it's falling out on it's own - stress!)
Enjoy your beautiful day.
More to come, soon. :)
Oh how life is so full of twists and turns. I love your cute little rental. It's clean now baby. There are reasons (we sometimes don't understand) why we have these "fun" trials we have to go through. Unfortunately, I guess we can't complain too much because we signed up for this thing called life! I'm just glad you have great friends to help you through.

Oh I wish you didn't have to do any work right now. What a time you are having. At least it's good you don't have to move far and lose your friends.
Men can sure have a different way of thinking. :)

Yeah. Take things as easy as possible, Aunt Mar. I hope you start feeling better soon.
