My little constant companion.
Em left today to go back to her wonderful job and back to school. (Began this post last Sunday, the 10th ).
It will be a happy time for her, I am certain, but we will surely miss her around here.
Words cannot express how thankful I have been to have had her here.
She has been the CHIEF driver, grocery shopper, homework helper, assistant packer and cleaner, make-me-laugh(er), and more.
Life just feels better to me when my kids are home.
We both shed a few tears at our goodbye, even though I am sure it won't be long until we get to see each other again. I'm so thankful for our relationship.
She is kind and sweet and I am certain that her help was essential for me at this time, I don't know what we would have done without her.
But as much as I wish she could still be here, I am thankful for her awesome job and all of the fun things she will be involved in back at school.
It would be totally selfish of me not to share her with others... :)
Before she left, I was finally feeling well enough to go out with her for a little bit and not for doctor appointments. Ha, ha.
Meg, Smash and Jonathan were all at the YMCA of the Rockies for a couple of days for a youth conference (Jon was a chaperone - not a youth) which meant I got to focus on Emily.
She had her hair cut, bought some new clothes for school and we played a massive game of checkers!
I shouldn't tell you who won the game...
so, I won't but the look on Em's face might be a clue. (Bwah, ha, ha...).
(I can tell you the winner had 5 Kings left on the board when all was said and done).
Emily also took the time to write us a few "love notes" before she left, they are decorating my piano right now:
We LOVE you too, Bemmer-BO!
A FEW love notes?? You are one lucky mom!

I'm so happy Emily could be with you at the time when you needed help the most. What a blessing. Emily is a miracle to you. I'm glad you are feeling somewhat better, Marilyn.
Hope to see you soon, Emily. We will call you.
